The Technical Requirement

ForecastFollow runs inside the MetaTrader 4/5 (MT4/MT5) platform, which is a Windows-based application.

Crucially, our software uses specific Windows DLL files to connect to our servers and download live data. For this reason, the "MetaTrader for Mac" versions offered by some brokers will not work with ForecastFollow, as they are not a full Windows environment and cannot run these essential files.

To run the full ForecastFollow software, you must use a complete Windows operating system. Here are the two best and most recommended solutions for Mac users:

Solution 1: Use Parallels Desktop (Virtual Machine)

This is the most popular method for seamlessly running Windows applications on a Mac, especially new Macs with Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) chips.

Install Parallels Desktop: This app lets you run a full version of Windows on your Mac in a virtual machine.
Install Windows: Use Parallels to easily install a full version of Windows 10 or 11.
Install MetaTrader: Inside your Windows virtual machine, download and install MT4/MT5 from your broker.
Install ForecastFollow: Finally, install the ForecastFollow software inside your Windows environment.

Benefit: This allows you to run MetaTrader on your Mac desktop just like a native app.

Solution 2: Use a Forex VPS (Virtual Private Server)

This is the most professional and stable method, used by many serious traders (even those on Windows). A VPS is a small, private Windows computer running 24/7 in a secure data center.

Rent a VPS: Sign up for a Forex VPS service (they are often low-cost).
Install Software on VPS: Remotely connect to your VPS and install your MT4/MT5 and ForecastFollow software on the server.
Connect from Your Mac: Use the free "Microsoft Remote Desktop" app (available in the Mac App Store) to log in to your VPS from your MacBook at any time.
